History: This is a Georgian male name derived from the Persian Tahmuras, a name of the legendary 'third shah of the world' according to Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh. Teimuraz I (Georgian: თეიმურაზ I) (1589–1661), of the Bagrationi Dynasty, was a Georgian monarch who ruled, with intermissions, as King of Kakheti from 1605 to 1648 and also of Kartli from 1625 to 1633.
